Palworld Sakurajima Ultimate Breeding Guide

Palworld’s new Sakurajima update introduces a whole new island, new pals, a new raid, and more. Breeding is one of the essential parts of the game and in the Sakurajima update now you can optimize this process. Check out the comprehensive guide below.

Breeding Overview

Palworld’s breeding system allows you to create pals with specific stats and traits. I assume you already know the breeding process. If not, we have given an overview for you below.

To breed any pal, you need both a male and a female pal as parents. After catching both parents, select them to partner on your breeding farm, which unlocks at level 19. Remember to give the breeding farm some cake. After a while, they’ll lay a pale egg, which you can hatch later on using an incubator.

How to make a cake in Palworld

  • Step 1: Unlock the mill at level 15
  • Step 2: Set up a wheat plantation
  • Step 3: Gather the ingredients for the cake. 5x Flour, 8x Red Berries, 7x Milk, 8x Eggs, and 2x Honey
  • Step 4: Combine the ingredients and make a cake using the cooking pot.

Optimizing the Breeding Process

Traits and Stats

Desired Traits: Consider traits that fit your pal’s role. To combat, combine defense and offensive skills. Focus on job-specific attributes and work speed.

Selective Breeding:

  • Three and One Strategy – One with desired traits and the other with missing traits, increases the chance of getting all four traits in the offspring.
  • Two and Two Strategy: Each parent has two desired traits.
  • Duplicates Strategy: Both parents share the same traits but are arranged differently.

Base Stats: Pals with higher base stats will scale better with stats and traits.

IV Stats:

  • Pals have various base stats (attack, defense, and work speed) that are randomly assigned within a range based on what Pal they have.
  • Check the IV stats directly by using the “Ability Glasses” available at level 24 in ancient technology.

Advanced Breeding Techniques

  • Trait Inheritance: Use our Pal Breeding Calculator to determine the breeding pairs that will yield specific traits.
  • New Pal Yakumo: This new pal increases the chance of offspring inheriting its traits. Use Yakumo to capture or hatch high-level pals by breeding them with desired traits.

Build Your Base

Your base must have a good workforce, facilities, ranches, and farms for a self-sustaining base. Check the details below.

Ranches: 2-3 ranches for grazing Pals (For example Chickpeas for eggs, Mozara for milk).

Farms: 4-5 Red Berry Farms and 5-6 Wheat Farms.

Workforce:

  • Planting and Gathering: 4-6 Pals
  • Watering: 2-3 Pals
  • Kindling: 1-2 Pals

Facilities:

  • Mills: 2 for grinding wheat into flour.
  • Electric Kitchens: 2 for making cakes.
  • Breeding Farms: 2-3 for continuous breeding.

Breeding in Palworld is complex, but with the proper strategy, knowledge of pal stats and skills, and a good setup, you can make perfect pals in Palworld.
